WEST VILLAGE — Police released surveillance photos and video of a suspect wanted for questioning in the alleged sexual assault of a transgender woman at the Stonewall Inn Saturday night.
The man pictured has a goatee and is shown wearing an all-gray suit and pointed dress shoes. He was described as between 35 and 45 years old, standing between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11, and weighing 250 pounds.
NYPD spokeswoman Sophia Mason said the department's public information office did not have photos of the suspect, but the NYPD's gay officers' union tweeted out a wanted poster.

The poster notes the man depicted is a "suspect only — no probable cause to arrest."
The 25-year-old victim told police that she was in a unisex, single-person bathroom when the man said he just wanted to wash his hands. Once inside, he groped and raped her, she told police.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said at an unrelated press conference Monday afternoon that the photo is "probative" and that "people inside of the Stonewall" know the suspect.
Calls and emails to the Stonewall Inn were not returned.
