SOUTH BRONX — Bronx, get ready to Feel the Bern.
Sen. Bernie Sanders will hold a rally in St. Mary's Park at 450 St. Ann's Ave. on March 31 at 7 p.m., roughly three weeks before New Yorkers are set to vote in the state's April 19 presidential primary.
The candidate, fresh off a string of recent victories in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii, plans to discuss issues at the event including fighting climate change, establishing universal health care, making tuition free at public colleges and universities and taking big money out of politics.
Sanders plans to visit Pittsburgh on March 31, where he will hold a rally at 10:30 a.m. before heading to New York. The Pennsylvania primary is scheduled for April 26.
The South Bronx rally is free and open to the public, but admission is first come, first served, and the campaign is strongly urging people to RSVP, which they can do online. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
Sanders will be joined at the event by the actress Rosario Dawson and the Grammy-winning musician Residente.
