CLAREMONT — Police are looking for a suspect who beat a man on the 4 train after the two got into an argument over a seat.

The suspect and the victim were on a southbound 4 train approaching the Mount Eden Avenue stop when they started arguing over a seat at about 6 a.m. on March 7, according to the NYPD.

The dispute escalated when the man shoved the victim to the floor and punched him in the face several times, causing a severe cut on his upper lip, police said.

The victim refused medical attention and left the subway at Mount Eden Avenue, but the assailant stayed on board, according to the NYPD.

The suspect was wearing a black backpack, blue jeans, black hooded sweater, black baseball hat and blue jean jacket, according to police.
