HELL’S KITCHEN — Four men used a cabdriver’s credit card to make a $40 purchase at a 7-Eleven after one of the suspects punched the driver in the head and stole his wallet, police said.

The 50-year-old yellow cabdriver was standing outside his taxi opposite 432 W. 56th St., between Ninth and 10th avenues around 4:50 a.m. on Feb. 23 when the four men approached and asked for a ride to The Bronx, the NYPD said.

After the driver agreed to take them, one of the men punched him in the right side of the head and grabbed his wallet from his rear pants pocket, police said.

The four suspects fled east on West 56th Street with the wallet, which contained the driver’s ID, credit card and $10 in cash, according to police.

After turning north on Ninth Avenue, the group hopped into a small, black SUV and took off, police said.

Less than an hour later, the driver’s stolen credit card was used to make a $40.15 purchase at a 7-Eleven at 1764 University Ave. in The Bronx, the NYPD said.

Video footage from the 7-Eleven shows the four men — two of whom appear to be wearing scarves around their necks — entering the convenience store around 5:08 a.m. that morning, police said.
