UPTOWN — Service on the 1 train will be suspended Uptown for eight weeknights beginning Monday as part of planned maintenance work, the MTA said.

Regular service will be suspended between 96th Street and Dyckman Street from Monday, March 28, to Friday, April 1, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and then again from Monday, April 4, to Friday, April 8, the MTA said.

The train will be divided into two sections during the work, the MTA said. One train will run from Van Cortlandt Park-242nd St. in The Bronx to Dyckman St., skipping the 207th St. station.

The other will run from the South Ferry station to 96th St., and then continue on the 3 line between 96th St. and 148th St., skipping the 145th St. station, the MTA said.

Free shuttle bus service will be provided during these times on routes along Broadway, between 96th and 168th streets, and on St. Nicholas Avenue, between 168th and 191st streets. There will be also be a shuttle bus at Dyckman Street connecting passengers from the A and 1 train stations. Passengers can also transfer to the A or C trains at Dyckman St. station or the 59 St-Columbus Circle station.

The maintenance is part of the MTA's FASTRACK program, with the last suspension in service along this portion of the 1 line occurring in March 2014, the authority said.

The next FASTRACK initiative will impact the 2 and 3 lines between Harlem and The Bronx from April 11 to April 15, and again from April 25 to April 29.
