HELL'S KITCHEN — A student who got into a classroom fight was arrested after he chucked a pencil holder that sliced his teacher’s forehead, police said.

School administrators at P.S. 35 at 317 W. 52nd St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, had just broken up a fight involving the 15-year-old student about 12:17 p.m. on March 15 when the boy picked up a chair and threw it, NYPD officials said.

A school safety agent managed to block the chair before it hit anyone, but the teen then picked up a pencil holder and tossed that, police said.

The object struck the teen's 25-year-old teacher, a Brooklyn resident, leaving her with a cut on her forehead, the NYPD said.

The boy was arrested and charged with assault, police said.

A Department of Education spokeswoman said Thursday that police and EMS responded to the scene immediately.

"Individuals involved in the incident are safe and we will continue working closely with NYPD to ensure the safety and security of students and staff," she added.

A message left with an employee at the school Wednesday was not returned.
