ROOSEVELT ISLAND — Cornell Tech has completed the skeletal structure of The Bridge — an incubator for researchers and small businesses at its new Roosevelt Island campus —and released brand new renderings of the facility.
The images show a spacious building with large windows overlooking Manhattan, and plenty of desks and tables that will be used by companies and Cornell Tech students.
Once the 230,000 square-foot building is completed in 2017, it will be able to accommodate 2,500 students and faculty as well as 12 companies, according to Cornell Tech officials.
Two other buildings will rise as part of the campus's first phase — a 26-story residential tower and the Bloomberg Center academic building. Both are expected to open during summer 2017.
The Bridge is just one of 10 buildings in total that will rise on the Cornell Tech campus and one of three that will open in 2017.
