MIDTOWN — More than $8,000 worth of Ugg boots were stolen from a delivery truck parked outside one of the boot retailer’s Manhattan stores.

A 55-year-old delivery man from New Jersey told police he was sitting in his truck, waiting for his partner to finish delivering boxes to Ugg Australia’s outpost at 600 Madison Ave. around 7:30 p.m. on March 16.

At some point during the 15 minutes he was parked outside the store, he felt the truck shaking, but stayed inside the vehicle, police said.

After the delivery man’s partner finished the drop-off, he returned to the truck and discovered several boxes filled with the pricey boots, as well as a lift truck device, had been stolen from the back of the truck, the NYPD said.

The thief or thieves made off with 30 Ugg boots valued at a total of $8,400, police said.

Police did not say how much the lift truck device was worth, or whether 30 individual boots or pairs of boots were stolen.

A manager at Ugg Australia’s Madison Avenue store did not immediately respond to request for comment on Wednesday.
