SUNSET PARK — A mother was indicted in the death of her 2-year-old daughter who drowned in their Sunset Park home last week, officials said.
Lin Li, 24, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder at Brooklyn Supreme Court on Monday, the Brooklyn District Attorney's office said.
Li's daughter Melody Pheng was found unconscious in her family's home at 652 47th St. on March 13. She was taken to Maimonides Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
According to the New York Daily News, Li is suspected of putting the child into the bathtub in a storage container and letting it fill up with water.
Li faces 25 years to life in prison, the newspaper reported.
