BUSHWICK — A would-be robber shot at a fleeing victim in broad daylight, according to police.

The 24-year-old victim, who escaped unscathed, was chaining his bicycle outside 310 Weirfield St. in Bushwick at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday when a man in his 20s asked him for the time, police said.

The man then pulled out a black handgun from his backpack and demanded the victim's belongings, according to police.

"You got a phone?" he asked, according to the victim. "Turn the cloud off."

Instead of surrendering his phone, the victim bolted.

The empty-handed robber fired one shot in the direction of the fleeing victim but missed, according to police.

The robber also fled the scene and had not been apprehended as of Monday, police confirmed. He was caught on surveillance video which has been released by the NYPD.

He is described as about 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
