ASTORIA — Drivers might want to avoid the RFK-Triborough Bridge this weekend.
The MTA will be closing lanes on the span Friday night and Saturday as crews do construction work on the Queens stretch of the bridge that approaches The Bronx toll plaza, according to an announcement.
Three of the four lanes will be closed overnight Friday starting at 11 p.m., while two lanes will be shuttered Saturday during the day until around 6 p.m., the MTA said.
The closures will allow workers to do repairs in the Manhattan/Bronx direction of the 79-year-old bridge, including replacing and resurfacing parts of the road.
Drivers should expect delays, the MTA said.
