QUEENS —  A Brooklyn woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death in South Jamaica nearly four years ago was found guilty Tuesday, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Describing the killing as "brutal and a particularly bloody crime scene," Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said in a statement that the defendant "is now faced with the possibility of spending the rest of her life behind bars.”

Anna Adams, 41, fatally stabbed her boyfriend, Jeffrey Perkins, 46, in his neck, back and head in the basement of his home at 133-04 145th St. on Sept. 5, 2012, according to the DA.

Adams was the one who called 911 around 6 a.m., saying that her boyfriend was covered in blood, the DA said. When paradmedics and police got to his house, they found trails of blood throughout the house and outside. Perkins's lower body was wrapped in sheets and blankets that were spotted with bleach. Police also reported a strong odor of the chemical in the air.

When she was taken into custody, Adams stated that she'd stabbed her boyfriend, according to the DA. She was also wearing one shoe, the other of which was found under Perkins' body.

After a two-week trial, the jury deliberated for a day and found Adams guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with evidence and endangering the welfare of a child. She will be sentenced on April 11, according to the DA.

The couple had a young son together, and Adams also had another son who was 12 at the time of the murder. Both were at the scene of the murder when police arrived, but then-Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly was unsure at the time if they witnessed the stabbing

When DNAinfo New York reported the story in 2012 neighbors said the couple had a tumultuous relationship with public altercations. Kelly said that police had been called to the family's home at least five time in six months for reports of domestic disturbances.
