MIDTOWN — A bar-goer head-butted a police officer who arrested him after he refused to pay his bill, the NYPD said.
Customer Dylan Stillwell, 44, had been drinking at the Old Castle Pub and Restaurant at 160 W. 54th St. on March 10 when he refused to pay $80 for the drinks he'd ordered, police said.
After an employee called 911, police responded to the bar and placed Stillwell in custody, according to a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
Soon after, Stillwell head-butted the arresting officer in the face, cutting his lip and leaving him in “substantial pain,” the complaint said.
Stillwell was charged with assault and theft of services, the DA’s office said.
He was released on his own recognizance the same day and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 16.
An attorney for Stillwell did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
A manager at the Old Castle Pub and Restaurant declined to comment.
