
STAPLETON — Thieves robbed a man at gunpoint, taking his cellphone and sneakers while he waited at a Stapleton bus stop, police said.
The 26-year-old man was waiting for a bus at the corner of Edgewater and Bay streets on March 1 when two men approached about 11:55 p.m., one of them brandishing a black gun, according to the NYPD.
The suspects grabbed the man, threw him to the ground and stole his Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone and gray Nike Jordan sneakers, police said.
The pair then got into a dark colored Chevrolet Suburban and fled southbound on Bay Street, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries from the robbery and was treated and released from Richmond University Medical Center.
The suspects were caught on surveillance video outside 501 Port Richmond Ave. before the attack, police said.
