MIDTOWN — Winter may get its last punches in this weekend with some snow flurries and temperatures hovering around the freezing mark, forecasters said.

Temperatures will be in the 60s for much of this week, but could dip to the low 30s beginning Sunday night as a cold air mass makes its way south from Canada, according to AccuWeather.

Before nightfall, Sunday is expected to be overcast with possible rain showers and a high of 52 degrees.

The chilly air is expected to hit the Midwest toward the end of the week and could gain momentum as it makes its way East, forecasters said.

"It's hard to say exactly what's going to happen, but there's potential for a storm this upcoming weekend," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist John Feerick said.

Feerick said it was difficult to predict exactly how much snow could hit the city.

In order for snow to stick at this time of year, though, it must fall at a heavy rate, forecasters said.

"Everything would have to come together almost perfectly this weekend to get a significant snowstorm," he said. "But there's a little bit of a chance."
