FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Free coffee, high-speed wireless and desk space are on offer at co-working space operator Grind's new joint venture with Verizon.
To celebrate the opening of a new 10,000-square-foot space inside Verizon's headquarters at 140 West St., right across from the World Trade Center, Grind is encouraging anyone who wants to experience co-working to come try it out.
"Our approach to co-working is really about helping to make connections," Grind's CEO David Beal said.
"We're excited to be working with Verizon in their incredible headquarters and to join this active Lower Manhattan community."
Those interested in the preview week just need to sign up on Grind's website. Space is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday this week, and more than 120 people can be accommodated.
The space officially opens next week and prices for using the expansive open office area varies, depending on need — a daily rate is $40 and monthly price is $550. There's also a team package, complete with a private room, for $3,000 to $5,000 a month.
Grind has two other city locations and is opening another co-working space at 30th Street and Broadway in April.
