HUDSON YARDS — The developer behind a 65-story glass tower with spiraling terraces coming to Hudson Yards plans to build a 1.3-million-square-foot building nearby.

Tishman Speyer purchased two properties in the district — 434-444 11th Ave. and 550 W. 37th St. — with plans to develop an office tower with street-level retail, the developer said Wednesday.

“New York City’s position as a global business center is as strong as ever, and Hudson Yards is rapidly emerging as one of its main engines for further economic growth,” CEO Rob Speyer said in a statement.

“As evidenced by our commitment to develop more than four million square feet of premium commercial space in the area, we are convinced that Manhattan’s far west side is well on its way to becoming the world’s most modern, dynamic and sustainable urban neighborhood,” he added.

Tishman Speyer bought the properties from two private entities, Midtown Development LP and 550 Associates LP, and will have the opportunity to buy additional development rights in Hudson Yards, the release said.

In February, Tishman Speyer released renderings of a 2.85-million-square-foot tower called The Spiral that will rise between the High Line and Hudson Boulevard Park at 66 Hudson Boulevard.
