QUEENS — A man who robbed a bank in Astoria on Friday was the same culprit behind another bank robbery in Bayside last month, according to the NYPD.
The suspect entered Astoria Bank, at 37-16 30th Ave. just after 2 p.m. on Friday and demanded money from a teller, making off with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
He pulled the same stunt on Feb. 2, when he robbed a Chase Bank at 61-09 Springfield Blvd. shortly before 3 p.m., police said.
No one was injured in either incident.
Police describe the suspect as 29 years old, standing roughly 6-foot-2 and weighing about 170 pounds, with a beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, jeans and a black coat, according to authorities.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
