Female Pedestrian Dragged by Vehicle in Sheepshead Bay, Witness Says

BROOKLYN — A female pedestrian was injured when she was dragged by a black sedan after getting into an argument with the driver in Sheepshead Bay Friday morning, FDNY officials and witnesses said.

The victim, whose name and age were not immediately released, was arguing with the driver near Kings Highway and East 15th Street just before 11 a.m., an FDNY spokesman and witness said.

The car took off while she was holding the driver's-side door open and the woman was dragged several feet.

"Then I heard a 'thunk,' I guess that was her hitting the ground. Everybody was screaming," said Valentina Goldenberg, who works with the victim at a home care provider.

"The car drove away. She was lying flat on the ground, the paramedics put her on a stretcher and got her in the ambulance. She never stood up."

The victim was treated at Lutheran Medical Center, and her condition wasn't immediately clear, officials said.

"It’s just so horrible," Goldenberg said. "She’s such a pleasure to work with."

The NYPD was investigating the incident.
