HELL’S KITCHEN — A city garbage can was thrown through the window of a Con Edison substation on 11th Avenue, causing $10,000 worth of damage, police said.

The unknown suspect or suspects picked up the trash container and tossed it through a window at the 700 11th Ave. site around 4 a.m. on Feb. 20 before fleeing the premises, the NYPD said. The type and size of the container was unclear.

The incident, which was captured on surveillance camera, was reported to police around 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 24.

A spokeswoman for Con Edison said the incident did not result in any injuries or "threats to the general public."
