LOWER EAST SIDE — A man heading into the Essex Street subway station was attacked by three teens who stole his wallet on Sunday, police said.

The 27-year-old victim told police that after he swiped into the station at about 5:15 p.m., one of the teens grabbed him and shoved him against a wall. Another teen then sliced open his pants pocket and took his wallet, which contained $170.

A third robber grabbed his iPhone from his hoodie pocket, then the trio fled the station.

Police were still investigating the incident.
