MARINERS HARBOR — A person was injured Tuesday morning after a fire broke out inside a Forest Avenue adult care facility, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on the fourth floor of the Mariners Residence, at 2099 Forest Ave., shortly after 6:40 a.m., a spokesman for the FDNY said.

About 60 firefighters responded and the blaze was under control at 6:47 a.m., the FDNY said.

The casualty was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Last year, the facility was in the news after a worker was arrested after she allegedly stabbed an administrator, the Staten Island Advance reported.
