STATEN ISLAND — The man accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend and her two kids inside a Staten Island hotel was indicted on murder charges Monday, District Attorney Michael McMahon announced.

Michael Sykes, 25, was hit with a 14-count indictment for the deaths of his 26-year-old girlfriend Rebecca Cutler, their 5-month-old daughter Maiyah Sykes, and Ziana Cutler, 1, McMahon said.

Sykes was also accused of stabbing Cutler's 2-year-old daughter, Miracle Cutler, who survived the attack.

"These cold-blooded murders were carried out against a woman and her innocent children. It’s almost incomprehensible to think a father and lover could do that to his partner, her children and, most shockingly, his own child," McMahon said in a statement.

"It is the goal of my office to seek justice for these victims and to hold this defendant accountable for these barbaric attacks."

Sykes was indicted for murder, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, robbery and endangering the welfare of a child.

On Feb. 10, Sykes attacked Cutler inside the Ramada Inn at 535 Gannon Ave. N., stabbing her more than 40 times, McMahon said.

He then stabbed Ziana Cutler and Mayiah Sykes about nine times and Miracle Cutler approximately 11 times, McMahon said.

Cutler, Ziana and Mayiah died at nearby hospitals. Miracle was released from Richmond University Medical Center over the weekend, NY1 reported.

Sykes called his mom after leaving the scene, confessing to the killings and saying he was going to kill himself, police said. After a four-day manhunt, he was arrested in Queens.

He's been held at Rikers Island since his arrest and was ordered to be placed on suicide watch after his arraignment.

Sykes' is due back in court on March 4, the DA said. His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
