UPPER EAST SIDE — Barbecue aficionados can rejoice: a new Mighty Quinn's has opened its doors on Second Avenue with a new menu item called "Spoon Bread."

The eatery famous for its 1-pound "Brontosaurus Rib," started taking customers on Friday at the new outpost at 1492 Second Ave. near East 78th Street.

The new restaurant is similar to its other six locations across New York and New Jersey in that it has customers order their slow-smoked barbecue from a counter.

The menu — ranging from pulled pork, smoked sausage, barbecue chicken, ribs and a slew of sides like baked beans and sweet potato casserole — won't change except with the addition of "Spoon Bread," or cornbread in a cup made with herbs, bacon sausage and "other secrets," according to Micha Magid, one of the co-founders of Mighty Quinn's.

Might Quinn's also serves American craft beer and wine and has seating inside and, once the weather warms up, outside.

Those who have a hankering for barbecue at home will be able to order delivery in a few weeks' time, according to Magid.

The space itself is perfect for Mighty Quinn's, according to Magid.

"The space checked all of the boxes," he said, pointing to the big windows, exposed brick and the easy flow of its customers. "We've been looking for a place on the Upper East Side for over a year."

"This is so far, so good," he continued.

Magid and his co-founders, Chris Courmos and Hugh Mangum, got started smoking meat in 2009 at the Smorgasburg in Williamsburg and gained a following, Magid said. Now they have seven brick-and-mortar locations.

Mighty Quinn's is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
