CHELSEA — On your mark...

Friends of Hudson River Park is seeking athletes to compete in the Olympic-style Hudson River Park Games this spring.

The second annual event will include a pentathlon, a “Fear the Pier” personal fitness challenge and less competitive recreational activities like kayaking, trying out a flying trapeze and paddle-boarding as part of a Community Fest.

Teams of 10 can sign up to compete in the pentathlon, which will feature flag football, dodgeball, volleyball, kayaking and what the event’s website describes as a “take no prisoners” obstacle course.

Last year, companies like Goldman Sachs, Brookfield and Ogilvy sent teams to the games, which require pentathlon athletes to choose a unique team name, a team captain and pay a tax-deductible $4,500 registration fee before March 1 or a $5,000 fee after March 1.

Players have a chance to take home the “prestigious” Hudson River Park Cup, the Friends website said.

“The more competitive and driven your group, the better!” Friends of Hudson River Park wrote. “The 2015 Games saw industry rivals in head-to-head battle and enthusiastic community groups challenging them at every step.”

The games will take place at the park’s Pier 40 on May 21, the Friends’ website said.
