WOODSIDE — A masked bandit swiped a woman's cell phone aboard an R train in Queens earlier this month, according to the NYPD.
Police say the suspect — a man wearing a mask that covered the lower half of his face — grabbed the iPhone out of the hand of a 69-year-old straphanger at 11:40 a.m. on Feb. 12.
He then fled the train at the Northern Boulevard station in Woodside, heading north on Broadway and then east on 53rd Place, police said.
The suspect was caught on surveillance footage wearing jeans, a dark jacket and a T-shirt with the white Nike "swoosh" logo on the chest, according to police. He's described as heavyset.
