MIDTOWN — A pedicab driver punched another driver in the face and threatened to kill him after the two got into an argument over prospective riders near Central Park, police said.
A 29-year-old driver from Brooklyn told police he was talking to potential customers around 1 p.m. on Feb. 21 in front of 106 W. 59th St. when another driver came up and started soliciting them.
The two drivers started arguing, and as the exchange escalated, the second driver told the 29-year-old, “I’m going to f---ing kill you,” the NYPD said.
After that, he punched the man in the face three or four times, knocking him to the ground and leaving him with cuts on his face and hands, as well as a swollen left eye, according to police.
The driver who attacked the 29-year-old then fled westbound on Central Park South before police arrived at the scene, police said.
Officers searched the area, but the attacker was nowhere to be found, police said.
