JACKSON HEIGHTS — Liz Lugo noticed the dirty bag on the corner of 75th Street and 37th Road on Monday, standing out from the corner near Diversity Plaza.

When she walked closer she saw "something furry moving inside."

Inside the bag, which looked like it carried tools, was a gray striped kitten.

Lugo can't keep the cat, and is now looking for someone to adopt the friendly kitten. Her medical history is unclear, but she seems in good health, she said.

"She definitely was a house cat," she said, because she's litter trained.

The kitty's enjoyed her stay in Jackson Heights, playing around Lugo's apartment, but is looking for a permanent home.
