ELMHURST — A lauded Thai restaurant is closing its Queens location so the owners can focus on their newest Brooklyn location.

Plant Love House will shutter its Whitney Avenue spot this weekend, according to a post on its Facebook page and an employee.

"We have a heart breaking announcement — Plant Love House Queens will be permanently closed on Feb 28," the post said. "Please visit the Brooklyn location if you ever need a bowl of satisfaction. We promise to bring the authenticity and originality to everywhere we go and of course more desserts to come at Brooklyn."

The restaurant opened in 2014 and received rave reviews for its authentic Thai dishes and creative desserts, standing out in a neighborhood already saturated with great restaurants.

They expanded to a second location at 622 Washington Ave. in Prospect Heights in the fall to meet demand from customers who traveled to Elmhurst, owners told Grub Street.

A waitress at the restaurant Tuesday night said it was too much for the owner to run both. They would instead focus on the Brooklyn eatery, she said.

Commenters on the restaurant's Facebook post encouraged them to return at some point to Queens.

"Possibly in the future because we would love to be able to serve Queens once again!," the owners replied.
