THE BRONX — A young man was gunned down in a gang dispute on a Mott Haven street corner near St. Mary's Park on Monday afternoon, police said.

Alfredo Callazo, 20, was at the corner of St. Mary's Street and Crimmins Avenue about 4:21 p.m. when he was shot in the back, chest, left hand and buttocks, an NYPD spokesman said.

"He was laying on the ground on his back," said witness Jovani Morrero, 27. "He had on gray Jordan 9s, a black T-shirt and regular jeans. The cops were doing chest compressions, but he wasn't responding. He was out cold."

Callazo, of Morrisania, was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital, police said.

Callazo belonged to the Forrest Over Everything gang, and the murder appears to be a targeted hit, not a random killing, sources said.

But friends remembered him as funny and outgoing.

"He was always happy, laughing and joking around," said close friend Desiree DeJesus, 19. "He joked with everyone. He'd tease everyone, but never in a mean way."

There were no immediate arrests, but officers are looking for two persons of interest in the case who fled toward the nearby Betances Houses after the shooting, police said.

"It's heart breaking. It's hard to comprehend," said DeJesus, tears streaming down her face. "It's like it's not real."
