THE BRONX — Three men beat up and poured what appeared to be scalding water on the face of a Marble Hill man in an assault that police are investigating as a bias crime, according to the NYPD.

The attack occurred on Sunday around 8:45 p.m., when two men walking beside the 50-year-old male victim started talking to him as he was walking east on W. Kingsbridge Road, police said.

When the victim made it to the corner of Davidson Avenue, three men — including the two he was talking with — threw what appeared to be scalding water on his face and repeatedly punched and kicked him, according to the NYPD.

The victim told police that the attackers called him the n-word.

The man suffered second degree burns on his face and was taken to Jacobi Hospital, officials said.

Video shows two of the suspects walking casually down a sidewalk.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
