EAST VILLAGE — The rooftop cottage at Pear Tree Place — an outwardly rustic penthouse atop a historic prewar building on East 13th Street — is back on the market after a surviving a fire in August, as first reported by the New York Post.

The home, located at 203 E. 13th St., sold for $4.4 million just days before a fire broke out on the roof and elevator machine room on Aug. 27. No one was injured in the blaze, which was caused accidentally by an electrical issue, according to FDNY. Firefighters took less than an hour to put out the flames.

Listed for $17,000 per month, the 1,972-square-foot, three-bedroom duplex boasts hardwood oak floors, exposed brick, 12-foot ceilings, a solarium, Victorian-era balusters, two private garden terraces and four wood-burning fireplaces. There’s an in-unit washer and dryer, too.

Portions of the building, which sits near the historic site of Peter Stuyvesant’s pear tree — hence the name — date back to 1865. It is also home to Kiehl's flagship store.
