HARLEM — As one building rises, three prepare to fall.

The owner of three commercial buildings right next to the Whole Foods site on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue wants to demolish them, according to applications filed with the Department of Buildings.

FDB Acquisition bought the buildings — along with three more on 125th Street — for $20 million in 2007, records show.

One of the buildings, at 114 West 125th St., has a full vacate order because of an unstable facade. Another, at 116 West 125th St., has a partial vacate order because the stair enclosure in the basement is not fireproof.

All three buildings have scaffolding sheds in front of them.

It's unclear what FDB plans to do with the site. The company did not respond to questions about its plans and it has not filed any paperwork for new buildings with the city.
