MIDTOWN — Police are investigating claims that a production assistant for 50 Cent's TV show “Power” groped an aspiring actor, hit him across the face and used a homophobic slur against him during a casting call at a popular nightclub.

The 22-year-old actor from Brooklyn told police he went for a casting interview for the Starz network show, which is produced by the rapper, at LAVO nightclub at 39 E. 58th St. around 10 p.m. on Feb. 9 when a production assistant for the show “lured” him into a room and groped him, according to a complaint filed with the NYPD.

As he tried to resist the assistant’s physical advances, the man hit the actor across the face “multiple times” and repeatedly asked him a question that included a homophobic slur, police said.

The actor managed to leave the room, after which the assistant gave him his phone number, he told police.

Since then, the aspiring actor told police the assistant has been texting him, despite the fact that he told the assistant his “aggressive sexual advances” weren’t welcome.

"STARZ was not aware of this alleged incident," a a spokeswoman for the network said. "We are looking into the matter and take it very seriously."

Representatives for LAVO did not respond to requests for comment.
