INWOOD — A high tide Tuesday morning reached benches and rocks along the Muscota Marsh in Inwood Hill Park as part of coastal flooding across the city.

The flooding, which Mayor Bill de Blasio said was due to Monday's storms, affected several parts of Queens, Brighton Beach in Brooklyn and the FDR Drive at 86th Street on the Upper East Side.

City workers cleaned storm drainage basins Tuesday morning to help the water recede quickly, the mayor said.

“From clearing storm drains to salting roads that could turn icy, we're taking all necessary steps to respond to the impacts of this flooding," de Blasio said in a statement.

Residents were surprised to see the flooding reach Muscota Marsh along the waterfront in Inwood Hill Park.

The Muscota Marsh opened to the public in 2014, as part of a deal with Columbia University to develop the school's Campbell Sports Complex.

Last year, a harbor seal made several repeat appearances in the waters along the marsh, hopping on and off the dock near Columbia University’s boathouse.
