15 Subway Lines Face Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY - Service on 15 subway lines will be disrupted this weekend due to construction and maintenance work. Up-to-date service changes can be found at www.mta.info.

1 Train:

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 1 trains will not run in either direction between 14th Street and South Ferry. Free shuttle buses are running between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

3 Train:

Through the winter, 3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions.

For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, shuttle buses run from the Saratoga Avenue station. B60 customers can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue.

For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, shuttle buses run from the Pennsylvania Avenue station.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, 3 trains will not run in either direction between Harlem-148th Street and 96th Street. The 2 train and free shuttle buses running between 135th Street and 148th Street provide transit alternatives.

4 Train:

Throughout this winter, 4 trains will not stop at Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in either direction.

Until the spring, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will skip 103rd Street.

For service to 103rd Street, riders can take the 4 or 6 trains to 125th Street and transfer to a downtown 4 or 6. Riders can also take an uptown 4 local train or a 6 train to 110th Street and transfer to a downtown M101 Local, M102, or M103 bus.

For service from 103rd street, riders can take a downtown 4 or 6 train to 96th Street and transfer to an uptown 4 or 6 train. They can also take an M101, M102 or M103 bus to 96th Street and transfer to an uptown 4 or 6 train.

Between midnight on Saturday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, Crown Heights-Utica Avenue-bound 4 trains will run locally between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street.

5 Train:

Between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Bowling Green. Downtown 5 trains will run locally between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street.

6 Train:

Until the spring, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will skip 103rd Street.

For service to 103rd Street, riders can take the 4 or 6 trains to 125th Street and transfer to a downtown 4 or 6 train. Riders can also take an uptown 4 local train or a 6 train to 110th Street and transfer to a downtown  M101 Local, M102 or M103 bus.

For service from 103rd street, riders can take a downtown 4 or 6 train to 96th Street and transfer to an uptown 4 or 6 train. They can also take an M101, M102 or M103 bus to 96th Street and transfer to an uptown 4 or 6 train.

A Train:

Until the spring, Brooklyn-bound A trains will skip 111th Street and 80th Street.

For service to 111th street, riders can take the A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train, or take the Q112 bus in the days and evenings.

For service from this station, riders can take the A train to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service to 80th Street, riders can take the A train to Grant Avenue and transfer to an Ozone Park/Far Rockaway-bound A train.

For service from the station, riders can take the A train to 88th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5:00 am Monday, A trains will run locally in both directions between W 4h Street-Washington Square and 59th Street Columbus Circle.

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, A trains will run on the F line in both directions between W 4th Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech.

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, uptown A trains will run express between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and 125th Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound A trains will skip 104th Street.

C Train:

From 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, C trains will run on the F line in either direction between W 4th Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech.

From 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, uptown C trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street.

D Train:

From midnight on Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, uptown D trains will stop at 14th Street and 23rd Street.  

Between 5:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Norwood-205 Street-bound D trains will skip Bay 50th Street and 25th Avenue.

E Train:

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, E trains will run on the F line in either direction between 21st Street-Queensbridge and W 4th Street-Washington Square. Free shuttle busses will run between Court Square-23rd Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge, with a stop at Queens Plaza.

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer-bound E trains will run express from 21st Street-Queensbridge to Forest Hills-71st Avenue.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer-bound E trains will not stop at 75th Avenue and Briarwood.

Between midnight Saturday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, Word Trade Center-bound E trains will run locally between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge.  

F Train:

Until this spring, Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue.

For service to this station, riders can take a Coney Island-bound F train to 18th Avenue and transfer to a Jamaica-179th Street-bound F train.

For service from the station, riders can take a Jamaica-179th Street-bound F train to Church Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train.

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip 75th Avenue, Briarwood and Sutphin Boulevard.  

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F trains will skip 4th Avenue-95th Street, 15th Street-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway. Riders can take the G train instead, and transfer between the F and G trains at Smith-9th Streets, 7th Avenue or Church Avenue.

Between 12 a.m. Saturday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F trains will run locally between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge.  

J Train:

Between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, J Trains will not run in either direction between Hewes Street and Broad Street. J trains will run between Jamaica Center and Hewes Street.

Free shuttle buses and 4, 6 and F trains will be running. Free shuttle buses will run between Hewes Street and Essex Street, and will stop at Marcy Avenue.

Riders needing direct service between Brooklyn and Manhattan are encouraged to consider the A, C or L train using a free transfer at Broadway Junction.

M Train:

Between 6:00 a.m. and 12 midnight on Saturday and Sunday, M trains will not run in either direction between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street. M service will run between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue throughout the weekend.

Riders can take the J or L train, or free shuttle busses if they need service.

The buses will run between Hewes Street and Essex Street, and will stop at Marcy Avenue. For service to and from Manhattan, riders can use the L train via a transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues.

N Train:

Until this spring, Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard-bound N trains will skip 86th Street, Avenue U, Kings Highway, 20th Avenue, 18th Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue, and Fort Hamilton Parkway. N trains will stop at Bay Parkway and 8th Avenue.

For service to 86th Street, Avenue U, and Kings Highway, riders can take the Astoria-bound N train to Bay Parkway and transfer to a Coney Island-bound N train.

For service to 20th Avenue, 18th Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue, and Fort Hamilton Parkway, riders can take the Astoria-bound N train to 8th Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound N train.

From these stations, riders can take a Coney Island-bound N train to Bay Parkway or Stillwell Avenue and transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.

For service to New Utrecht Avenue-62nd Street, riders can take the D train, and transfer to an Astoria-bound N train at 36th Street.

Q Train:

From 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday, Q trains will not run in either direction between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Kings Highway. Q service will run between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Kings Highway.

Free shuttle busses will run express between King Highway and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. The shuttle busses will run locally between Kings Highway and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

For service to Manhattan, riders can take the D, F or N trains from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. For service to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, riders can take the D, F or N lines at 34th Street-Herald Square or the D and N lines at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.  

R Train:

Between 6 a.m. and midnight on Saturday and Sunday, Forest Hills-71st Avenue-bound R trains will run express between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills-71st Avenue.
