MIDTOWN — A thief pocketed 10 diamond bracelets valued at more than $10,000 from a Midtown jewelry store, police said.

The male suspect walked into Royal Jewelry and Diamond Corp. at 55 W. 47th St. around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 and asked an employee for help, the NYPD said.

When the worker turned his back to pick something up, the man leaned over the counter, grabbed a tray with 10 diamond bracelets, put it in his coat and left the store, the NYPD said.

Police released a photo of the suspect, who was wearing a purple coat and a gray cap when he allegedly took the jewels.

A manager at Royal Jewelry and Diamond Corp. declined to comment Wednesday.
