LONG ISLAND CITY — A man struck another passenger in the face with a wooden stick during an argument onboard an E train in Queens last week, according to the NYPD.

The suspect, who is believed to be homeless, was on the train near the Queens Plaza station at about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday and was being loud, police said.

Another 31-year old male passenger — who police say may have been under the influence of alcohol — tried to quiet the man, and the two started arguing, police said.

The boisterous man then struck the victim with a wooden stick, cutting his lip and scraping the right side of his head, and fled the train, police said. The victim was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

The attacker is described as standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 120 pounds with brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
