MIDTOWN — No one can seem to nail down these thieves.

A Duane Reade that had $1,632 worth of Essie nail polish stolen last month became the target of another heist last week, police said.

Less than three weeks after the initial incident — in which a suspect swiped the entire, 192-bottle collection of Essie polish from the 22 W. 48th St. store — a man walked into the same location, grabbed 70 bottles of nail polish and walked out roughly 7:10 p.m. on Jan. 25, police said.

The thief in the second incident stole $595 worth of Essie bottles, as well as 11 Sally Hansen nail polish bottles valued at $154, a store employee told police.

The suspect in both incidents put the bottles in his backpack before fleeing, police said.

Police did not say whether the suspect in the most recent incident was the same man who carried out the earlier job.

After the first heist, a Duane Reade employee said the store was "slowly" restoring the stolen products.

A manager working at the convenience store on Tuesday declined to comment on the thefts.
