WILLIAMSBURG — An argument over a few snowballs escalated into an assault and robbery on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

A man was punched repeatedly in the face and got his cell phone snatched after an argument with three men who had been tossing snowballs at cars, police said.

The 34-year-old victim, who was warming up his car at around 5 p.m. Sunday evening on South Third Street near Bedford Avenue, confronted three men who were tossing snowballs at cars.

The men stopped what they were doing and one of them pummeled the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The victim's cell phone slipped out of his pocket during the fall and one of the attackers grabbed it while another punched the man a second time as he lay on the ground, police said.

The robbers made off with the man's $800 Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Phone and as of Tuesday had not been apprehend.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
