HELL’S KITCHEN — The owner of ramen chain Totto Ramen is opening another noodle joint in the neighborhood.

Hide-Chan Ramen is expected to open at 314 W. 53rd St. between Eighth and Ninth avenues in April, according to a manager of the restaurant.

This will be the second Hide-Chan in the city, with its first located in Midtown East. The Hell's Kitchen space was previously home to a French-Moroccan piano bar called Room 53.

The new spot will be located just blocks from a pair of Totto outposts on West 52nd and 51st streets.

Hide-Chan's signature ramen is made with "rich, creamy pork bone soup with thin, long noodles," according to its website.

The menu at the new Hell's Kitchen outpost will be similar to what they serve at their East 52nd street restaurant, including its "Classic Ramen" for $10 and a deluxe version for $15, which comes with sliced pork, boiled egg, vegetables and cod roe.

They also offer gyoza, pork buns and takoyaki as appetizers, according to a menu filed with Community Board 4.

The owner presented its plan to Board 4 in hopes of getting its blessing for a liquor license at a public meeting on Jan. 12. The application still needs to go through the full board, and ultimately get approval from the State Liquor Authority.

“Hide-Chan Ramen… will provide casual dining with high quality food at reasonable prices,” owner Ryuichi Munekata wrote in his liquor license application. “The restaurant will serve various high quality Japanese noodle dishes and dumplings.”

Along with the Hide-Chan Ramen in Midtown East, Munekata owns three Totto Ramen sites — one in Hell’s Kitchen and two in Midtown.
