BROOKLYN — A 44-year-old man died in his car from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning less than a block from his Sunset Park home Monday afternoon, according to the NYPD and sources.
Angel Ginel was found in the driver's seat of his Lexus in front of 525 47th St. at about 4:40 p.m., according to sources and officials.
“It looks like the driver died of carbon monoxide because the exhaust pipe was blocked by snow," the law enforcement source said.
A mother and child also died from carbon monoxide poisoning in New Jersey during the blizzard, the New York Post reported.
The historic storm dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the city, burying many cars.
Ginel, who lived at 4713 Fifth Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
