EAST HARLEM — A man riding his bicycle along Madison Avenue and 132nd Street was shot twice early Friday morning, according to the NYPD.

The 22-year-old from the Bronx rode south just after midnight when he was shot.

The unidentified gunman fired several rounds at the victim, hitting him in the left thigh and right forearm, police said.

No arrests have been made. The gunman is described as being in his early 20s, 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds.

Police said the victim was transported to Harlem Hospital and is expected to survive the shooting.

This was the second shooting of the year in the 25th Precinct. Last year there were eight more shootings than in 2014 — a 60 percent increase, statistics show.

Reducing that number is the precinct's top priority, according to Deputy Inspector Thomas Harnisch.
