BOERUM HILL — Designer eyewear company Warby Parker will open its first Brooklyn retail shop this spring, a spokeswoman said.
The new store is slated for 55 Bergen St. near Smith Street, next to the Invisible Dog Art Center and local coffee shop 61 Local.
Warby Parker has locations across the country, as well as four in Manhattan. This will be its first location in the outer boroughs.
The new location is less than a half mile from another hipster friendly eyewear shop, Moscot Eyewear on Court Street.
The leased Warby Parker space is about 2,080 square feet, according to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news.
"Everyone already thought we were based in Brooklyn, so we thought it was time to open a store there," Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal told the newspaper.
