LOWER EAST SIDE — A thief lifted luggage from a long-distance bus last week, making off with more than $2,000 worth of property, police said.

Police said security cameras caught a 5-foot-10 man wearing a black jacket and gray sweater pulling luggage off an Atlanta Tours Inc. bus at 127 East Broadway at around 6 p.m. on Jan. 16.

The victim placed his bag into the luggage compartment before boarding but realized it was missing when he checked in on it a few moments later, police said.

The bag contained a black Alienware laptop worth $1,300 and the victim’s clothing, according to the NYPD.

Contact information for the bus company was not immediately available.
