Empanada Mania Pop-Up

Where: Rockaway Brewing Co., 46-01 5th St., Long Island City
When: Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m.

The empanada makers at Empanada Mania will be serving up their fried goods at the brewery for two days this weekend, Friday and Sunday. The company is known for its unique filling flavors, including sweet Thai chili pork and a dessert empanada made with red velvet cookies.

Friday, Jan. 22

Preview Screening of "In Football We Trust"

Where: Sorentino Rec Center, 1848 Cornaga Ave., Far Rockaway
When: 6:30 to  8:30 p.m.

WNET and Indie Lens Pop Up gives a preview of this documentary which follows four high school football players in Utah as they overcome gang violence and other issues to play football. The film premieres on Jan. 25 on WNET/PBS and this preview screening also includes a discussion lead by Victor Dugue, the coach of the Rockaway Ravens. Social Dance at Forest Hills Library 

Where: Forest Hills Library, 108-19 71st Ave., Forest Hills
When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Learn ballroom dances in this class for adults, which will be held weekly at the Forest Hills branch of the Queens Library. Beginner students will learn the basics of dance while more experienced dancers are given advanced training. No registration is required for this free program.

Meditation By the Beach 

Where: Yoga on the Rocks, 90-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd., Rockaway Beach
When: 5 p.m.

► The Bray Studio: Classic Cartoons from the Collection of Tom Jose Stathes

Where: Voelker Orth Museum, 149-19 38th Ave., Flushing
When: 2 p.m.

Local historian Tom Stathes presents the magical world of animated cartoons from the Bray Studio, which got its start in New York more than 100 years ago and worked with leading animators of the period. The program is suitable to children and adults of all ages. Tickets are $5. Light refreshments will be served. 

Tony Orlando Live in Concert

Where: Resorts World Casino New York City, 110-00 Rockaway Blvd., Jamaica
When: Doors open at 5 p.m., Show starts at 6 p.m. 

American singer and showman Tony Orlando will perform his greatest hits, like “Tie A Yellow Ribbon” and “Knock Three Times.” Prices run from $30 to $75. To purchase tickets, go here

► Rediscover the Watershed Model

Where: Queens Museum, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Corona
When: 1 to 2 p.m.

For the 1939 World's Fairs, workers from the Depression-era Water Progress Administration built a replica of the city's watershed system, which sources our drinking water from upstate. Revisit this historic model of our state's watershed source with nonprofit NYC H20 Director Matt Malina and civil engineers who work on the water system.

“Fertile Ground” Dance Showcase

Where: Green Space, 37-24 24th St., #301, Long Island City
When: 7 p.m.

This is a monthly showcase of emerging choreographers hosted by the Green Space. It will be followed by a discussion with the theater’s director, Valerie Green, complete with wine and cheese. Tickets are $14.
