BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man offering to sell a bracelet assaulted and robbed another man of his cellphone when the victim didn't want to buy it, according to police.

The victim was in front of AE Nail Salon at 884 DeKalb Ave. at roughly 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 when a man walked up and asked if he wanted to buy the piece of jewelry, an NYPD spokesman said.

When the victim declined, the suspect forced him inside the Roosevelt Houses around the corner at 153 Marcus Garvey Blvd., police said.

The man then punched the victim in the lip and body before taking off with his cellphone, police said.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction and is described as 25 to 30 years old with a goatee, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a gray sweater, dark-colored sweatpants with reflective material, white sneakers and a dark-colored baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online at the Crime Stoppers website.
