STATEN ISLAND — The entrance ramp from the Belt Parkway to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will close overnight on Wednesday and Thursday, with the Brooklyn-bound upper level closing overnights from Wednesday to Saturday, the MTA said.

The ramp will close at Wednesday night at 11:59 p.m. and reopen to traffic on Thursday morning at 4 a.m. so crews can install new girders as part of the $84.3 million project to reconstruction the ramp and build a new bus/HOV lane, the MTA said.

It will close again on Thursday night at 11:59 a.m. and reopen on Friday morning at 5 a.m.

Drivers headed to Staten Island from the Belt Parkway at that time will be detoured to the Bay 8th Street exit to 92nd Street to access the bridge or the 4th Avenue exit to 86th Street and onto the bridge, the MTA said.

Aside from the Belt Parkway ramp, the Brooklyn-bound upper level of the bridge will also be closed overnights from Wednesday until Saturday morning, the MTA said.

The upper level will close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday and reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday for the project. It will also close at 8 p.m. on Thursday and reopen 5 a.m. on Friday.

On Friday night, the upper level will close at 11 p.m. and reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, the MTA said.
