SUNSET PARK — The purchaser of a warehouse at the corner of 51st Street and 4th Avenue plans to turn the building into apartments, according to the realtor behind the sale.

Neil Dolgin, co-president of Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates, Inc., which listed the property, said Monday that the building sold for more than $7.5 million after spending two weeks on the market.

Dolgin wouldn’t reveal the purchaser, but said they plan to convert the four-story structure into apartments for middle-income residents.

Brooklyn Daily Eagle first reported the sale.

“It’s built like a fortress,” Dolgin said, adding that its proximity to a shopping district and the nearby R train station make it attractive to future residents.

The property is currently owned by the Congregation Imrei Yehudah, Dolgin said. He said he expects the sale to be finalized within a month.
