14 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY - 14 subway lines will be disrupted this holiday weekend, although trains will be running on a regular weekday schedule with minor timing changes on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the MTA said.

Here’s the breakdown of changes, mostly due to planned work:

3 Line: Trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue stations in both directions at all times throughout the winter. Free shuttle buses will be available, and transfers will be free with a metrocard.

4 Line: Trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue stations in both directions at all times throughout the winter. Free shuttle buses will be available, and transfers will be free with a metrocard.

The 103rd Street station will be closed for renovation until Spring 2016.

New Lots Avenue-bound trains will skip Astor Place, Bleecker Street, Spring Street and Canal Street stations from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday. 

Brooklyn-bound trains will run express between 14 Street-Union Square and Brooklyn-Bridge-City Hall from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. 

5 Line: Trains will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Bowling Green from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

6 Line: Downtown trains will run express between 14 Street-Union Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.

7 Line: Hudson Yards-bound trains will run express from Mets-Willets Point to 74 Street-Broadway.

A Line: Brooklyn-bound trains skip 111 Street and 80 Street stations until Spring 2016.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, trains in both directions will be re-routed via the F line between West 4 Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech. During that time, trains will run local between West 4 Street-Washington Square and 59 Street-Columbus Circle.

Manhattan-bound trains run express between 59 Street-Columbus Square and 125 Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

C Line: From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, trains in both directions will be re-routed via the F line between West 4 Street-Washington Square and Jay Street-MetroTech, and Manhattan-bound trains will run express between 59 Street-Columbus Circle and 125 Street.

D Line: Trains are suspended in both directions between 59 Street-Columbus Circle and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. FNQR trains and free shuttle buses provide alternative service.

E Line: Trains in both directions are re-routed via the F line between 21 Street-Queensbridge and West 4 Street-Washington Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses run between Court Sq-23 St and 21 St-Queensbridge, stopping at Queens Plaza.

Trains run local in both directions in Queens from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, trains run local in both directions between Forest Hills-71 Av and 21 St-Queensbridge.

L Line: Trains skip Atlantic Avenue station in both directions through winter 2016. Free shuttle buses are available to and from Broadway Junction.

N Line: From 5:00 a.m. Monday until Spring 2017, Astoria-Ditmars Blvd bound N trains skip 86 St, Avenue U, Kings Hwy, 20 Av, 18 Av, New Utrecht Av, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy.  Trains will stop at Bay Pkwy and 8 Av.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, trains are rerouted via the D line in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and 36 Street.  Free shuttle buses and R trains provide alternate service. 

Q Line: Manhattan-bound Q trains run express from Sheepshead Bay to Kings Hwy between 3:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.

R Line: 36 St-bound trains stop at 53 Street and 45 Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.
